73 Computed Tomography Imaging to Determine Reduction in Intracrainal Pressure Before & After Posterior Vault Expansion in Apert Syndrome

چکیده
Abstract Introduction Apert syndrome is an autosomal dominant malformation syndrome, accounting for 4.5% of all craniosynostoses. Raised intracranial pressure (ICP) in has a multifactorial aetiology, with incidence up to 45% if left untreated [1, 2]. ICP can be determined clinically, non-invasive and invasive methods. In this study, we want assess whether the use CT scans reliable identifying changes ICP. Method Pre postoperative 13 patients who had posterior vault expansion were assessed graded severity (ICP). The grading system used was departmental specific assessment carried out by single clinician on different brain structures. This process repeated same patients, using scans, 4 months later determine consistency repeatability. relationship between pre explored chi squared test. Intra-observer variability Kappa statistics [SS1]. Results There no statistically significant difference scan grading. Across instances, only one structure p-value <0.05. interobserver reliability test did not identify strong agreement comparison two instances data analysis. Conclusions Assessment method have expansion.

Dose Reduction Methods in Chest Computed Tomography
Introduction: Computed tomography is one of the most powerful tools for investigating thorax disease, because it shows progression of lung disease much clearer than chest radiography. Technical advances in CT scanners have led to some abilities for CT scanners such as coverage of larger volume, lower noise and ability for acquiring image in one respiratory phase. However, this will be accompani...
متن کاملArtifact reduction techniques in Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) imaging modality
Introduction: Cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) was introduced and became more common based on its low cost, fast image procedure rate and low radiation dose compared to CT. This imaging modality improved diagnostic and treatment-planning procedures by providing three-dimensional information with greatly reduced level of radiation dose compared to 2D dental imaging modalitie...
متن کاملEvaluation of Metal Artifact Reduction software in Computed Tomography
Introduction: The image quality of computed tomography (CT) can be seriously lowered by metal implants of patients. These implants are known to exert a significant impact on diagnostic accuracy due to artifacts. The current study aimed to assess the usefulness of Metal Artifact Reduction (MAR) software in the reduction of metal artifacts, in comparison to iterative rec...
متن کاملDesign of Small Animal Computed Tomography Imaging for in vitro and in vivo Studies
Introduction: Mini Computed Tomography (mini-CT) was suggested in biomedical research to investigate tissues and small animals. We present designed and built a mini x-ray computed tomography (mini-CT) for small animals as well as industrial component imaging. Materials and Methods: The system used in this study includes a X-ray tube 20kV to 160kV and a flat pa...
متن کاملInfarct Core Expansion on Computed Tomography before and after Intravenous Thrombolysis
PURPOSE Infarct core can expand rapidly in acute stroke patients receiving intravenous tissue plasminogen activator (IV t-PA). We investigated changes in the extent of infarct core during IV t-PA treatment, and explored the associative factors of this infarct core expansion in patients with proximal artery occlusion. MATERIALS AND METHODS We included patients who were considered for sequentia...
